Full Container Load

When shipping cargo by ocean, BMI’s FCL container services make for smooth sailing. First, the client’s freight is loaded into an empty cargo container at the shipper facility. The cargo container arrives at a port by train or truck, and then it is brought aboard a ship and journeys across the ocean or sea until it reaches its destination. Moving the cargo in containers ensures that the goods do not get re-handled when they switch between train, truck, or ship. This streamlines the process so that the shipments arrive at their destinations with more speed and security, making it far less likely that any items will be damaged or lost. For those seeking additional protection, freight insurance is available through BMI for both shippers and consignees. At BMI, we’re committed to making it easy and safe to ship freight for everyone. FCL freight service is efficient, convenient, and often costs less than LCL or road transport. It’s easy on customers’ cargo and wallets, especially through BMI. Our container services are available at every major domestic port and inland point, where we provide fixed-day schedules to help ensure the delivery of freight in a timely manner. We also offer an array of equipment and carriers so that every client’s unique needs are met. Whether it’s break-bulk, FCL, or LCL, we have the specialized equipment at our disposal to deliver it safe and sound. The different types and sizes of equipment at BMI span a broad range:
  • Refrigerated & Insulated Equipment (20’, 40’, 45’)
  • Enclosed Containers & Trailers (20’, 40’, 45’, 48’, 53’)
  • Specialty Equipment (Open Tops, Flat Racks, Flat Beds, Tanks, ISO Tanks)
Our specialty containers, trailers, and other equipment can be used exclusively in certain trade lanes. For perishable and other temperature-sensitive goods or products, such as fruit, vegetables, dairy, or meat, refrigerated and insulated equipment can meet customers’ needs in temperature control. Tanks and ISO tanks are also available for transporting cargo in powder, gas, or liquid forms. When cargo can fit into an enclosed container, it will typically cost less. But for freight that doesn’t fit into the dimensions of these containers, BMI goes outside the box with open tops, flat racks, and flat beds. We find a way for our clients’ freight to fit and ship, on schedule and at competitive prices.
